Starcraft Quest Recall 15V430: Incorrect tire pressure label may lead to overinflation

NHTSA campaign 15V430, reported July 6, 2015, 832 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Starcraft Prodigy and Quest school buses from model years 2008 through 2011 may have a tire placard that lists an incorrect kilopascal (kPa) tire pressure value. The label may also be missing spare tire information, so the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 for tire labeling.

If a tire is inflated according to the wrong value on the placard, it may be overinflated. Overinflated tires can fail suddenly, which increases the risk of a crash.

Starcraft will notify owners and send corrected labels free of charge. Owners can contact Starcraft customer service at 1-800-348-7440, and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
