Newmar Essex Recall 15V375: Loose Tag Axle Hangers Can Cause Sudden Handling Loss

NHTSA campaign 15V375, reported June 15, 2015, 57 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2015 Newmar Essex and King Aire motorhomes built between March 26, 2014, and December 4, 2014, have tag axle suspension hangers that may move. When this happens, the tag axle can shift off center.

If the tag axle moves off center, the vehicle's handling may suddenly be affected, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners of affected vehicles should take this seriously and arrange the repair promptly.

The repair is free. Newmar has notified owners, and authorized dealers will weld the tag axle suspension hangers to the chassis frame at no charge. The recall began on June 22, 2015.
