Sterling Bullet Recall 15V361: Driver airbag may rupture and spray metal fragments

NHTSA campaign 15V361, reported June 10, 2015, 2,601 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2008-2009 Sterling Bullet trucks built between October 15, 2007, and November 10, 2008, have a dual-stage driver frontal airbag that may let moisture in over time. That moisture can cause the airbag inflator to rupture if the airbag deploys in a crash.

If the inflator ruptures, metal fragments could strike the driver or other occupants and cause serious injury.

Dealers will replace the driver's frontal airbag at no charge. Owners will be notified by Daimler Trucks North America, or you can call DTNA customer service at 1-800-745-8000 (recall number FL-684). You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
