What this recall means for you
Certain 2016 Forest River trailers may have rear axle wheel studs that can break. The studs attach the wheels to the axle hubs, so a broken stud can allow a wheel to come off while the trailer is in use.
If a wheel detaches, the trailer can lose control, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners should take the warning seriously and not wait to have the issue checked.
Forest River will notify owners. Dealers will inspect and replace any affected wheel hub free of charge. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 1-909-873-3777, referencing recall number 51-05142015-0037, and should check their VIN for open recalls.
