Fontaine Revolution Recall 15V352: Trailer Bolts Can Loosen, Risking Structural Detachment

NHTSA campaign 15V352, reported June 8, 2015, 159 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2016 Fontaine Revolution flat deck and step deck semi-trailers built between April 20, 2015 and May 13, 2015 may have hardened washers that can crack in the bolted connections securing the upper coupler, landing gear, and suspensions to the trailer sub-frame. When the washers fail, the bolts can loosen and structural components may detach from the trailer, which increases the risk of a crash.

Fontaine Trailer Company will notify affected owners, and authorized dealers will replace the affected washers along with the nuts and bolts used in these connections. The repair is free of charge. The recall began on July 1, 2015.

If you own an affected trailer, contact Fontaine customer service at 1-205-485-1300 to arrange the repair, and check your trailer's identification number for any open recalls.
