What this recall means for you
On certain Prevost coaches, the wiring for the Automatic Fire Suppression System's Linear Thermal Detector can be damaged by heat in the engine compartment. Damaged wires may falsely trigger the fire suppression system, which can shut down the engine while the vehicle is in operation.
An unexpected engine shutdown increases the risk of a vehicle crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and have the vehicle checked as soon as possible.
The repair is free. Prevost will notify owners, and an authorized dealer will relocate the fire detector wiring at no charge. Owners can contact Prevost customer service at 1-800-463-7738 and reference recall number SR15-30. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
