What this recall means for you
The power cable linking the starter motor to the alternator can rub against the auxiliary air conditioning compressor bracket and wear through its insulation. This can cause the wire to short to ground.
A short circuit in this cable can create a fire risk. Owners should take this recall seriously and have their vehicle checked promptly.
The repair is free at an authorized dealer. Dealers will inspect and secure the wiring so it no longer rubs on the bracket, and any damaged wire will be replaced. Owners can also contact Eldorado National customer service at 1-909-591-9557, and should check their VIN for any open recalls.
