Jayco Fifth Wheel Eagle Recall 15V259: Wheel Studs May Break, Risking Wheel Detachment

NHTSA campaign 15V259, reported May 4, 2015, 2 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2016 Jayco Eagle fifth wheel trailers built between April 20 and April 21, 2015, have rear axle wheel studs that may break. The studs attach the wheels to the axle hubs, so a failure can affect how the wheel is held on.

If the wheel studs break, the wheel could detach from the trailer while in use, which increases the risk of a crash.

Jayco will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace any affected wheel hub free of charge. Owners can contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267 and reference Jayco recall number 9901238. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
