Cadillac Cts-V Recall 15V225: Corroded Front Brake Hose Can Leak and Lengthen Stopping Distance

NHTSA campaign 15V225, reported April 15, 2015, 4,907 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Road salt or other contaminants can corrode the front brake hose fitting where it attaches to the caliper. Over time this corrosion can cause the brake system to leak, which may lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle and raise the risk of a crash.

This recall covers certain 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V vehicles built between September 6, 2003, and June 11, 2007, that are registered or were originally sold in a set of Northeastern, Midwestern and Mid-Atlantic states plus the District of Columbia. It expands earlier recall 10V-105. Dealers will replace both front brake hose assemblies at no cost to the owner.

If you own an affected vehicle, contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 and reference GM recall number 15149, or check your VIN for open recalls. Authorized dealers will perform the free repair.
