Crossroads Sunset Trail Recall 15V186: Slide-Out Room Can Extend While Trailer Is Moving

NHTSA campaign 15V186, reported March 30, 2015, 62 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2016 Crossroads recreational trailers built between March 4 and March 20, 2015 may have screws that attach the expanding room to its sliding mechanism cable that can fail. If this happens, the room can extend unintentionally while the trailer is in motion.

An unexpectedly extending room increases the risk of a crash. Owners of affected trailers should stop using the expanding room feature until the repair is made and check whether their unit is covered by this recall.

Crossroads will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the slide room mechanism attaching screws free of charge. The recall began April 6, 2015. Owners can contact Crossroads customer service at 1-855-226-7496, referencing recall number 36, and should check their VIN for any open recalls.
