BMW R Nine T Recall 15V110: Rear turn signals may be hard to see, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 15V110, reported February 24, 2015, 1,792 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2014-2015 motorcycles built between November 27, 2013 and January 26, 2015 have rear turn signals that can be partially blocked from view for drivers behind them. In some road and traffic conditions, a following driver may not clearly see your turn signal, which increases the risk of a crash. The design also does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lamps and reflective devices.

BMW will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the rear turn signals with versions that have longer arms, free of charge. The recall began October 21, 2016. You can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 for more information, and check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your motorcycle is affected.
