Toyota Tacoma Recall 15V099: Wrong tire pressure label could lead to a crash risk

NHTSA campaign 15V099, reported February 23, 2015, 18 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2015 Toyota Tacoma trucks built between August 7, 2014 and December 22, 2014 may have had their tires and wheels changed to TRD PRO accessory tires and wheels. As a result, the tire placard on the vehicle may show incorrect tire size and inflation information, which means the tire could be improperly inflated.

Improperly inflated tires can increase the risk of a vehicle crash. The vehicles also do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110 for tire selection and load-carrying information.

Toyota will notify affected owners, and dealers will provide a revised tire placard with the correct tire size and inflation information, free of charge. Owners can contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331, and you should check your VIN for any open recalls.
