What this recall means for you
Some 2015 Yaris vehicles built between September 8, 2014 and January 9, 2015 may have rear axle bearing bolts that were not tightened properly. Over time, these bolts can loosen while the vehicle is driven.
If the bolts loosen, the rear wheel may lock up, or the rear brake components may be damaged and lose effectiveness. Either condition raises the risk of a crash.
The repair is free at an authorized Toyota dealer, which will inspect the rear axle bearing bolts and tighten them as needed. Toyota will also notify affected owners. You can call Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
