Nova Bus Nova LFS Recall 15V072: Brake air line can detach, weakening rear braking

NHTSA campaign 15V072, reported February 6, 2015, 16 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2006 transit buses built between January 1 and December 31, 2006, the air lines for the rear brake system may have a retaining ring (ferrule) that is positioned incorrectly. This can allow the air line to come loose.

If an air line detaches, rear axle braking performance is compromised, which increases the risk of a crash.

The repair is free. Dealers will inspect the air lines and reposition the ferrules as needed. Owners can contact Nova customer service at 1-450-472-6410 for more information, and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
