OBS Chevy CG33803 Recall 15V068: Wheelchair Lift Platform May Crack and Fall Out

NHTSA campaign 15V068, reported February 6, 2015, 8 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The platform side plates on certain wheelchair lifts installed in these vehicles may crack. If that happens, the lift platform can separate from the lift and come to rest against the vehicle's lift door. When the doors are opened, the platform may fall out, which increases the risk of injury to the lift operator.

Owners should take the vehicle to a Ricon dealer or service center. There, the lift will be inspected and supplemental platform support bumpers will be installed at no cost. Any platform that has already started cracking will be replaced free of charge. Owners can also contact OBS customer service at 1-330-453-3725 with questions about this recall. Check your vehicle identification number for any open recalls.
