Ford Transit Connect Recall 15V050: Front Seat Belts May Loosen, Raising Crash Injury Risk

NHTSA campaign 15V050, reported January 30, 2015, 16,091 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2014 Ford Transit Connect vehicles built between November 6, 2013 and September 20, 2014 may have had the upper front seat belt anchor bolts improperly tightened at the factory. Over time, these bolts can loosen.

If the seat belt anchorage fasteners loosen, the belt may not hold as intended, which increases the risk of injury to front occupants in a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and not delay the repair.

Ford will notify affected owners, and authorized dealers will replace the original seat belt fasteners with properly torqued ones at no cost. You can call Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall 15S03), and check your vehicle identification number for any open recalls.
