Chevrolet Traverse Recall 15V044: Tires May Crack, Causing Pressure Loss and Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 15V044, reported January 28, 2015, 9,074 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain tires on these vehicles may develop tread cracks. Cracked tread can lead to a loss of tire pressure and possible tire failure, which increases the risk of a crash. The affected tires are Goodyear P255/65R18 Fortera HL tires installed as original equipment on vehicles built within specific production windows in late 2014 and early 2015.

The repair is free. General Motors will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the affected tires at no charge. You can also contact GM customer service: Buick at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC at 1-800-462-8782, referencing GM recall numbers 15025/15067. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is included.

If your tires were bought as replacement equipment rather than installed at the factory, they fall under a separate recall, 15T-002, and that recall's remedy applies instead.
