The vehicle is a motor home equipped with a Fiamma F45 Eagle power-operated awning. While I was driving the vehicle on an interstate highway, the awning deployed for unknown reasons and was partially torn from the vehicle.
THIS VEHICLE IS AN RV BUILT ON 2017 MERCEDES SPRINTER CHASSIS MXCA76. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME. WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON, SPEED INCREASED DRAMATICALLY FROM SETPOINT, UP TO 80MPH WHEN SET TO 65. TURNED OFF CRUISE CONTROL, AND SHORT TIME LATER 5 SEPARATE WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH APPEARED, WITH WARNING TO TAKE VEHICLE TO WORKSHOP. WARNINGS WERE- BLIND SPOT ASSIST NOT WORKING, ABS NOT WORKING, TIRE SLIP PICTURE??, ESP NOT WORKING, CRUISE CONTROL NOT WORKING. PULLED INTO CLOSEST EXIT AND CALLED CLOSEST MERCEDES DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH SPRINTERS, AND IT WAS LIKELY A WHEEL SPEED SENSOR. THEY HAD THE PARTS, AND COULD

FIAMMA F65 #06693C13R AWNING ON OUR CAMPER VAN 1. THIS AWNING EXTENDED OUT 12' WHILE DRIVING AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFETY. 2. THIS AWNING RELEASED AND EXTENDED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE PARKED. THE AWNING WAS 'REPAIRED IN APRIL AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT. THEN OCCURRED AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER. THERE ARE MANY OTHER ONLINE REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING. SOME WHILE DRIVING. *JS
