Both front seat belt buckles are difficult to release. When the red release button is fully depressed, the metal seat belt latch plate/tongue frequently remains stuck inside the buckle instead of releasing normally. The belt must be manipulated, pulled, or repeatedly pressed before it will release. The problem occurs with both the driver and front passenger seat belts and is reproducible. This creates a safety concern because the driver or passenger may not be able to quickly remove the seat belt and exit the vehicle, particularly following a crash or other emergency. The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS, EBS, and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 06V493000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.

The vehicle stalls after a gas fill up. Daughter was stuck in traffic. No Power steering, brakes, etc. Started back up. very dangerous. This has happened after every fill up.

Car stalls after fill up. NUMEROUS online Jeep forums have noted this issue for years. There seems to be an issue with the “vapor canister”. Recall was apparently issued for 2011 model - but not older models. It is intermittent yet consistent problem over past few months. Please note that an Engine stall leaves steering wheel LOCKED and unable to maneuver car for a period until can restart. Can leave driver on a VERY DANGEROUS situation traveling at speed !
