Great Dane Champion Recall 26V708: Trailer Landing Gear May Collapse, Risking Injury

NHTSA recall 26V708 · Reported October 23, 2026 · 6,810 vehicles potentially affected · Great Dane Trailers

What this recall means

Certain 2027 Great Dane Champion and Everest van trailers may have welds on the landing gear K-brace that can fail. If the welds fail, the landing gear can collapse while the trailer is parked or being loaded or unloaded.

A collapsing landing gear can cause the trailer to drop suddenly, which increases the risk of injury to anyone nearby. Owners should be cautious around the trailer until the recall work is completed.

Great Dane will inspect the landing gear and replace the K-brace as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 22, 2026. You can contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493, and you can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.

Check whether this recall is still open on your vehicle. The repair is free at an authorized dealer.
